INGREDIENTS
500 ml unsweetened fortified soya milk
1 banana
1 Tbsp cocoa powder
METHOD
- Place all ingredients into the smoothie blender.
- Blend for 5 minutes until smooth.
- Pour and serve.

- No added sugar. Research suggests that a lower intake of added sugar may lower the risk of obesity and cardiovascular disease.

- Make sure you use fortified soya milk to replace other nutrients normally in cows’ milk, such as calcium and iodine.
- Some fortified soya kinds of milk also have vitamin D and Vitamin B12 added.
VARIATIONS
- Alternatives to bananas can be used, such as raspberries or strawberries, but this may alter the consistency and sweetness.
- Plant-based drinks could be replaced with cow’s milk.
